Forklift maintenance in all of Paraguay

Forklift maintenance routines and technical support

Forklift maintenance is essential for preserving operational safety, preventing machine downtime, and protecting warehouse productivity. In heavy-demand environments across river ports, container terminals, and industrial facilities in all of Paraguay, lifting equipment operates under demanding schedules that require regular technical attention.

Material handling operations rely on two main maintenance disciplines:

Preventive maintenance: Scheduled servicing executed according to equipment operating hours. Technicians inspect mast assemblies, lubricate moving joints, replace hydraulic filters, and check brake systems to catch component wear before a failure occurs.
Corrective maintenance: Rapid technical intervention designed to diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, or hydraulic faults, restoring the machine to duty with minimal downtime.

Consistent service protects warehouse assets and maintains safe working conditions for personnel.

How much is LPG costing your operation?

Internal combustion forklifts powered by LPG are common in logistics, but calculating their real operating cost requires analyzing more than cylinder purchase receipts. Fuel consumption, cylinder handling, and machine downtime directly impact the total cost of ownership.

To assess what LPG is costing your facility, consider the following operational factors:

Hourly fuel consumption: Fuel burn increases under heavy lifting cycles, ramp travel, and intensive multi-shift schedules.
Cylinder inventory and storage: Managing gas cages, maintaining safety clearances, coordinating supplier deliveries, and handling cylinder deposits consume space and labor.
Downtime during cylinder swaps: Halting the machine to disconnect empty cylinders, mount full tanks, and inspect seals creates cumulative non-productive hours across shifts.
Ventilation and safety standards: Enclosed warehouses and cold storage require adequate ventilation systems to disperse exhaust fumes, alongside strict fire safety protocols.

Contact ELEVA to request a customized operational comparison between your LPG expenditures and an equivalent electric forklift solution.

Advantages of an electric forklift

Transitioning to electric material handling equipment delivers significant operational and environmental advantages for industrial plants, distribution centers, and indoor facilities.

Key operational benefits include:

Zero tailpipe emissions: Electric forklifts generate no exhaust gases, making them ideal for indoor warehouses, food processing, and cold storage where clean air is required.
Quiet and ergonomic operation: Electric motors eliminate engine noise and structural vibration, reducing operator fatigue and improving situational awareness on the warehouse floor.
Reduced mechanical maintenance: With no engine oil, spark plugs, alternators, or drive belts, electric drive systems have fewer moving parts, lowering routine maintenance and consumable costs.
Streamlined recharging cycles: Recharging occurs during shift handovers, breaks, or off-peak hours, eliminating manual cylinder handling and storage risks.

Choosing between electric and internal combustion equipment depends on duty cycles, ambient temperature, and facility infrastructure.

Sales up to seven tons: ELEVA sells new and pre-owned forklifts, manual transpaletas, and electric pallet trucks up to seven tons with full warranty. Heavy machinery from ten to forty-six tons is available for rental.
IntegraOne CMMS monitoring: Fleets are tracked via IntegraOne software, monitoring operating hour meters, work orders, and real-time equipment availability through a client dashboard.

ELEVA officially represents Hangcha, Genma, Meclift, Westwell, Jiangsu, and JMG. Brands like Toyota, Hyster, Kalmar, Linde, Yale, or Clark are not represented; our team specifies equivalent alternatives from our represented lines.

Common mistakes in forklift fleet maintenance

Maintaining fleet reliability requires disciplined technical oversight. Avoiding common operational missteps prevents premature equipment wear and controls operating expenses.

Ignoring hour-meter intervals: Postponing fluid and filter changes beyond scheduled running hours causes accelerated wear on pumps, mast bearings, and hydraulic circuits.
Skipping daily pre-shift checks: Overlooking visual inspections allows minor defects like hose leaks, chain slack, or tire damage to escalate into costly stoppages.
Using unverified generic parts: Generic filters and uncertified seals compromise equipment durability. ELEVA uses only original manufacturer spare parts.
Neglecting operator training: Abrupt braking, aggressive acceleration, and poor load handling increase mechanical strain. ELEVA conducts operator training programs in partnership with clients.

Daily inspection checklist before starting the shift

A quick daily inspection helps operators identify mechanical issues before starting cargo operations in all of Paraguay.

Visual and mechanical verification

Inspect tires for cuts, excessive wear, and secure wheel lug nuts.
Check hydraulic cylinders, hoses, and undercarriage for fluid leaks.
Examine mast lifting chains, fork pins, and locking mechanisms for wear or distortion.
Confirm overhead guard integrity, mirrors, and seat belt condition.

Operational controls test

Test the horn, reversing alarm, beacon lights, and operating lamps.
Verify responsive hydraulic operation across lifting, lowering, tilting, and side-shifting.
Check service brake response, parking brake hold, and steering travel.
Verify that the emergency disconnect switch and instrument panel warning indicators function correctly.
