How much is LPG costing your operation?

Evaluating the actual cost of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) forklifts requires looking beyond canister purchase costs. For industrial and logistics operations in Doctor Juan León Mallorquín, Alto Paraná, internal combustion machinery generates ongoing direct and indirect expenses that impact operating margins.

Consider these key factors when evaluating your LPG expenses:

Hourly fuel consumption: Continuous acceleration, high-capacity lifting cycles, and engine idling consume steady fuel volumes during every shift.
Cylinder exchange downtime: Stopping machinery, traveling to storage, and swapping pressurized bottles accumulate idle machine and operator hours.
Storage and handling logistics: Managing cylinder inventory and maintaining dedicated outdoor storage areas consume facility space and administrative time.
Ventilation requirements: Operating combustion units indoors requires mechanical ventilation and air monitoring to protect personnel from exhaust buildup.
Engine maintenance: Internal combustion engines require periodic oil changes, filter replacements, and cooling system maintenance.

Calculate your operational costs and contact ELEVA to request a technical comparison between your current LPG setup and modern electric equipment.

Advantages of an electric forklift

Electric forklifts provide substantial operational benefits for indoor warehouses, food and beverage processing, pharmaceuticals, and cold-storage operations. Transitioning to electric drivetrains optimizes facility cleanliness and day-to-day efficiency.

Zero emissions: Operating without exhaust gases protects indoor air quality and sensitive stored goods.
Quiet operation: Low acoustic output reduces operator fatigue and improves situational awareness across the warehouse floor.
Lower maintenance needs: Electric systems eliminate engine oil, spark plugs, belts, and exhaust filters, reducing routine servicing.
Streamlined charging: Opportunity charging and battery exchanges eliminate the handling of heavy pressurized gas cylinders between shifts.

For operations requiring equipment up to 7 tons, ELEVA supplies Hangcha electric forklifts and pallet trucks for sale, built for rigorous industrial use.

How to choose the right equipment

Selecting the right machinery requires matching equipment parameters to your facility layout, load profiles, and operational duty cycles:

Capacity and load center: Confirm maximum load weights and center distances. Standard industrial duties up to 7 tons suit electric forklifts, whereas heavy port cargo requires units from 10 to 46 tons.
Power source: Electric models excel in enclosed or food-grade storage, while heavy outdoor quays and terminal yards rely on high-capacity diesel or heavy electric drivetrains.
Equipment condition: New units from represented brands include factory warranties and assisted installation. Inspected semi-new units offer lower acquisition costs and limited warranties, based on monthly availability.
Contract term: Operational timelines define whether long-term rental or purchasing makes financial sense. ELEVA provides rentals starting at 6 months, avoiding capital immobilization.

Consulting and operator training

ELEVA provides technical consulting for fleet sizing and specification, alongside hands-on operator training for heavy forklifts and reach stackers in partnership with clients.

Common mistakes when renting heavy forklifts

Avoiding typical procurement oversights ensures safe operation and cost efficiency:

Ignoring load center derating: Calculating capacity without accounting for load center extension and lift height risks hydraulic strain and instability.
Overlooking surface conditions: Operating 10 to 46-ton machinery on improper yard surfaces or low-bearing pavement leads to ground damage and machine wear.
Omitting maintenance terms: Renting without inclusive preventive care, guaranteed 24-hour replacement, and genuine parts support leads to prolonged operational downtime.
Confusing equipment brands: While market brands like Toyota, Hyster, Kalmar, Linde, Yale, or Clark represent familiar equipment types, ELEVA provides equivalent high-performance alternatives through represented brands like Hangcha, Meclift, and Genma.
Operating without telemetry: Failing to track machine hours and work orders increases the risk of neglected service intervals.
